why i hate commuting...

Friday was a REALLY crappy day!

1. Work was really sucky...it was crazy busy, I was supposed to get off work early and go to Happy Hour (that obviously didn't happen), and I didn't get to lunch until almost 4pm (I get off work at 5:30!!!).

2. Traffic was a B****. I left work at 5:30 and didn't get home until 7:30...it's a 40 mile drive.

3. I was rear ended by a SEMI TRUCK. Yes, you read that correctly. It was stop and go traffic and apparently the truck driver didn't see me...because he didn't just hit me once...he continued to bump me about 5 or 6 times!!!

As he continued to hit me I assumed that there must have been a huge pile up behind him, but no, when we pulled over it was just me & him. JERK!

The damage isn't nearly as bad as I expected (or as bad as Janet's little fender bender), it's just SUCH an inconvenience. Now I have to go get a bid, go back and forth with the insurance company and inevitably drive a crappy rental car.

Oh well, at least no one was hurt.

And on a brighter note, things with the condo are moving a positive direction. Nothing final yet, but it's being reviewed...so keep your fingers crossed!

Hey...I just realized...this is my 100th post!!! Woot!

Crap for sale...

Packwood, WA is a really small hick town just south of Mt. Rainier.

There is one grocery store, 2 bars, 3 restaurants, a hardware store, a sporting good store and a liquor store...that's about it.

Well...this is where my family's cabin is! Even being as small town as it is, we always have so much fun down there.

This weekend was no different. And to top it all off, Packwood has an annual Labor Day flea market...woo hoo!

Here are the top 3 things we saw for sale at the Packwood flea market:

  1. a sign that said "We Don't Skinny Dip...We Chunky Dunk"
  2. purses made out of Capri Sun pouches (seriously...Capri Sun pouches that were sewn together...)
  3. a hat that read "Guns Don't Kill People, Husbands Who Come Home Early Do"

To add to our white trash festivities, we went shootin' on Sunday! Yeehaw!

Actually, it was kinda fun. I even got a bullseye on my paper target!

Now summer is officially over, but I'm not complaining...because fall is my favorite season and it's almost here!

Some people!

Ugh. People are really bothering me today!

I just feel like I have zero patience with dumb/inconsiderate/rude people today.

We have a professional espresso machine & grinder in my office (I know...spoiled!). And we have a lot of outside people coming in to use our office space for various meetings/events.

Well...there's one particular person who comes in quite frequently, probably 2-3 times per week. We'll call him Mr. Latte.

Everytime Mr. Latte comes in here to use our office space, he makes SUCH A RUCKUS with the espresso machine. I mean, he really goes all out...GRINDING, TAPPING, BANGING, GRINDING SOME MORE, STEAMING, FOAMING...I mean, it is literally out of control. Sometimes, if I don't see him making his way toward the espresso machine, his loud tapping actually startles me. It is just ridiculous. And again, please let me reiterate that this is 2-3 times PER WEEK!!!

So, he came in today and, as usual, headed straight for the espresso.

A few minutes later he comes up to my desk and says "Jemumblemumble, there's something wrong with the grinder". I say Jemumblemumble because I don't think he knows what my name is except that it starts with a J.

So I get up from my very important yahoo game that I'm playing (I was on lunch) and walk over to the coffee cart. I kind of mess around with it for a minute, but I am no coffee grinder mechanic and I had absolutely no idea what was wrong with it, except for the fact that it wasn't grinding.

He then proceeds to tell me that he tried everything, INCLUDING putting his grubby little fingers INTO the bean hopper!

Ok...who in their RIGHT mind puts their freakin' fingers into a coffee bean hopper!?!? (For those of you who don't know what a bean hopper is...it's on top where the beans go in before they're ground.)

So I politely tell him that I don't know what's wrong with it and we'll have to have it looked at. Sorry...and head back to my desk.

I am not sitting down longer than 10 seconds and guess what I hear?

THE GRINDER!!!

He's decided that my answer just wasn't sufficient and he's going to try to fix the grinder himself. IDIOT!

So I walk over and say "Can you please not run the grinder until we figure out what's wrong with it? Just running it with no beans is going to burn out the motor".

"Oh, ok" is all he says!

AAAAAHHHHH!!!

There's someone in here!

Why do we say "There's someone in here" when we're in a public restroom and someone tries to come in? I've always thought it was weird...and yet I still do it!

At my office, we have a public restroom (with an access code) in the hallway that we use. You just type in the code and the door unlocks. Once you're inside it has a deadbolt that, when locked, says OCCUPIED on the outside. In BRIGHT RED!!! It's not hard to see! Plus, if it's not occupied, the door says VACANT. Again, not tough to see.

So why is that people come walking down the hall and come right up to the door, WHILE I'M IN THERE, and try to type in the code to get in! "HELLO!!! THERE'S SOMEONE IN HERE!"

I feel like such a dork saying that, but what else do you say?

"I'm in here!"

"I'm not done yet!"

"CAN YOU READ?!?!"
