You find out who your friends are...

The past two months have been a whirlwind of emotions and stress.

I've cried.
I've been angry.
I've laughed.
I've been sad.

I don't think I could have made it this far without my friends and family.

I've never really thought about how lucky I am to have such an amazing support system. I mean, I've always had lots of friends, but when something really difficult arises is when you truly see who your friends are (and also who aren't...but that's for another time).

My best friend S lives in San Diego, and even though she's far away, she's been there to talk to since day one. I know that I can call her any time of day and she will listen...or make me laugh until midnight! And when she doesn't hear from me for a few days, she calls me to check in and see if everything is ok.

My close friend K, a former college roommate who I haven't spent much time with since college, has already begun inviting me different parties, baseball games, etc...anything to keep my mind off of everything else. Not that this is the first time she's gone above and beyond the call of friendship...before we were roommates in college she lived about 20 miles away from me and one night my car broke down and I called EVERYONE I knew who lived in Seattle. No one could come get me, they were all busy...except for K. She drove completely out of her way in the middle of the night so that I wouldn't be stranded. Now if that isn't friendship, I don't know what is.

Another friend KS, who I was previously only really mutal friends with through S, has been SO supportive. She's been emailing me to find out of I'm ok and just letting me know that she's there to talk to...and most importantly that she supports any decision I make.

One of my coworkers, A, checks in on me everyday! She comes over to my desk to see how I'm doing and lets me vent, or cry, or whatever I need to do, any time of any day. She even sent me a text message this weekend to wish me luck with moving.

I just feel so blessed to have all of these wonderful people in my life, and for those of them who read this, Thank you!

good girlfriends are just the BEST, aren't they? I'm sure one day you will have to be there for them, too. And I hope you are doing better every day :)
