i heart snoozing...

I love sleeping.

I hate waking up.

The SNOOZE button is one of the best inventions ever (hey, that should have been my perfect invention).  Without it I would probably go insane.

So...I've decided to give up snoozing for lent this year.  I know...crazy!

I'm not sure what else to give up...I don't drink soda, I don't eat junk food, I don't smoke and I gave up coffee for lent 2 years ago and swore I would never do that again.  I would kill someone if I gave up chocolate...and I've tried 'giving up' NOT going to the gym and no, it doesn't work.

After a random conversation with a coworker this evening, I've decided to give up snoozing for 40 mornings.  I currently use my cell phone as my alarm clock...and I set 3 separate alarms (instead of snoozing, because pushing snooze on my phone involves opening my eyes) for 5:50am, 6:00am & 6:10am.

Well, starting next Wednesday, I will set my alarm for 6:10am and just get up!  You're supposed to feel more refreshed without snoozing...we'll see.

What are you giving up for lent?

wait, when does this start? and i'm going to give up exactly what you're giving up (thief, i know)...but you just made me realize a major downfall in my own mornings.

As much as it pains me to say, I do agree with the comment about feeling more refreshed without snoozing...
Usually I press the snooze button every five minutes for about an hour before I drag myself out of bed, and I then I stumble around like a zombie for the next 30 minutes.
But lately, I've been getting up on the first alarm. It's painful, but once I stand up I do feel ready for the day. :)

i totally did not realize that easter was so early this year and that lent was just around the corner. i love the snoozing idea, as i totally wasted 90 minutes this morning doing just that(ahh, the life of a student).

instead of giving something up though - i might go with going to church every week until easter.

I am such a snoozer, I don't think I could give it up. Props to you, haha.

That's a good one!

I'm still debating - but it looks like I'm giving up perezhilton - and all other gossip Web sites!

I should totally give up the snooze button! I am even more guilty than you. I wonder if husband would agree though. We are partners in waking up late way too often!

I just posted about cognitive dissonance, and the snooze button was an example!
