So tomorrow is the big day.
I will officially be one year closer to 30!
I will be turning 27...YIKES!
I really don't feel like I'm in my late twenties. I definitely don't feel like I'm in my early twenties, but I just don't feel like I'm old enough to be almost 30.
Does anyone else feel this way? I think about the music I like, the clothes and styles I like, etc., and I feel like they're not what a late twenty something should like. I'm not quite sure why. Maybe it's just denial!
College seems like it was forever ago, and yet I don't feel like I'm old enough to have graduated with a 4 year degree, 5 years ago!!!
All in all though, I think I'm handling 27 pretty well. 25 was really hard for me, 26 was no big deal and I feel that 27 is kinda eh. I'm a little concerned about next year...doesn't 28 seem so old?
I don't want you to think that I'm not excited about my birthday...believe me, I am. Birthdays are the ONE day a year that it's really all about you! I LOVE it! My plans include: sleeping in (I'm taking a vacation day), facials, lunch and shopping with my sister and then dinner with Jason. I'm really excited!
Technically I like to consider this week surrounding my birthday, My Birthday Week. It started this past Saturday night...we went out with friends to celebrate.
I had a great time. All of my close friends (who live in the area) came and it was just so nice to spend time with them all in one place!

Then this weekend we have lots of birthday plans...Friday night is a girls night with some coworkers and they've told me that we'll be continuing the birthday celebration, Saturday night is game/birthday night with some friends, and Sunday is family birthday night. My mom's birthday is on Saturday, so we're planning a joint birthday for Sunday. Should be fun!
Happy Birthday to me...now if only I could celebrate birthdays without actually aging...hmm.

Happy Birthday! Just wait until you get as hideously old as me, 43 !! Whatever your age, you still feel young inside - me I'm about 8. My Grandma told me she felt like an 18 year old when she was in her 70's. Live for now, enjoy your day and don't worry too much - you may be getting a little close to 30, but you look lovely! S

Oh congrats! you have said what i have been feeling. I am turning 25 on the 23rd- any pointers???
25 was definitely the most difficult birthday I've had. I'm not sure why...I guess it was the crossing over from early 20's to mid 20's.
The only pointers I can give are to have fun & be happy. Sarah's comment above was pretty helpful too!
