fat tuesday...updates

As you may have noticed, there haven't been any Fat Tuesday posts for awhile. The reason for this is that WW and I have not been getting along with each other for the past few months. I've been doing this for almost a year now and have been floundering around between a total loss of 13 and 15 pounds since August! Ugh! I have less than 6 months until my wedding and would still like to lose at least 15 more pounds.

Three weeks ago, I got fed up and gave myself an ultimatum...I was going to follow my plan to a T, work out like never before and lose at LEAST one pound...or I was going to quit WW.

So, I tracked everything I ate and drank (I mean EVERYTHING!) and tried a bunch of new classes at the gym - Zumba, kickboxing & dance. I earned a total of 45 Activity Points (for those of you not familiar with WW, you not only eat food points, but you earn activity points when you work out...you can then swap these for food if needed).

Well, last Tuesday at my meeting, I was down 2.6! That's the biggest loss I've had in awhile! I tried to follow the same type of plan this week and earned 35 AP's and tracked almost everything I ate and stayed within my points for the week. Last night at my meeting I was only down .4... While I wish the loss had been greater, I'm just excited that I actually lost 2 weeks in a row! It's been while since I did! The past few months have been up and down every week!

So, there you have it...I'm hopefully back on the band wagon and will stay here for awhile...or at least until I lose some more weight.

For others who are on WW, or other weight loss programs, how are you doing? Has anyone else hit a plateau that's lasted for MONTHS?!

What are you eating with those points? Even if you are eating fat free sugar free ice cream or something like that that only has a few points, it's better to eat something with the same point value that has more nutritional value like a lean protein, vegetables, fruit, whole wheat bread, etc. That could help.
In general don't drink soda... even if it is diet soda. If you eliminate that and alcohol, you will lose weight pretty effortlessly.

Oh, Jenni...I feel your pain, girl. Maybe we can get back to daily motivation together? I am here for you!

I hear your struggle. I did WW before my wedding just to maintain because I am a super stress eater. After the wedding I decided I would get serious again. I have been trying since July and had loss 21 lbs (almost my 10%) but then the holidays came and I gained some back. I have been flip flopping tha past few weeks and am back to a loss of 15 lbs although I am scared to weigh in tomorrow night. I don't think it will be good.

I just don't understand how you can gain 3 or 4 lbs in one week but I never lose that in one week. Grr.

Keep up the good work and remember you are not alone in the WW battle.

Isn't it amazing how even if you do the exact same thing two weeks in a row, one week you may lose 2 lbs and the other week .4? No wonder dieting is so frustration.
